Modems should not be filtered.

If you are sharing a single phone socket with a modem and a phone/fax then follow the procedure below:

  • Locate the phone socket for your ADSL line and remove any existing RJ11 (clear square modular plug) phone cord from the telephone socket located on the wall
  • Take your supplied ADSL inline filter and insert the telephone cord from the LINE side into the RJ11 wall socket.
  • Insert the RJ11 phone cord or adapter that was previously plugged into the wall socket into the DSL filter on the PHONE side
  • Insert the grey RJ11 phone cord supplied with your modem and insert it into the ADSL side of the filter. This line then runs to your modem as shown.

Important note: If you purchased an ADSL modem through InfoAge, we will have provided you with an inline filter and not a central splitter.
